Fantastic selection of beers. The food was ok but really just standard bar food. I had the Elk burger which was too lean for my liking. I don't know why I always try new burgers. Beef is always the best burger. The fries were excellent. Our bartender Tim was great. He did an excellent job with everything from beer knowledge to anecdotal stories about Yellowstone. Make sure you check out the trivia on the back of the mneu!

We were hopeful seeing all the reviews. Food - well - maybe we just ordered the wrong things - was really below ordinary and definitely not worth the price in our opinion. My fish and chips had a tasteless batter and the cod was rock hard (felt like it went from freezer to fryer). Son's chicken tenders - same thing - tasteless batter - we were just glad the chicken was cooked (Some of the park restaurants had undercooked tenders). Service was good.

Great beer selection! Stays open later than most. I had the pizza, which was good. The boyfriend had the elk burger, which he said was dry. So skip the elk here! Price was about $15-$20. Service was good! They don't have desserts during summer, which sucks. Overall not great but good!

Seemed like a friendly place. They have a bunch of taps and a friendly bartender. Definitely worth a stop in. I was enduring a 45 minute wait at the tapas place up the street, so I dropped in for a pint. The crowd looks varied, mostly tourists (like everywhere in the town), and pretty center-of-the-bell-curve. I didn't try the food but the service at the bar was great. I would stop in again for a pint.

The place is smaller inside then it looks and fills up quickly - nice atmosphere and convenient location within all the towns shops. It is connected to a Best Western - I normally avoid hotel restaurants but due to the reviews have it a chance! We all got burgers - 2 black angus and 1 elk. We all were very happy with them! A lot of home made fries and the burgers had a lot of flavor. I wasn't aware but just so now you are Elk burgers come a lil red as they are leaner and they don't want it to be dry - it wasn't dry at all and I would get it again! Service was also very good. Great place to eat while shopping downtown West Yellowstone!

Great place! Huckleberry Honey Wheat Beer was delicious!!! Guys had pulled pork sandwiches one with fries, one with sweet potato fries. Arleen had a chicken salad and I had a mini pizza. Absolutely everything was delicious! Our waitress Jen, was very helpful, friendly and most entertaining. Highly recommend!

We got to sit in a unique corner booth ... where we could have been forgotten altogether, but we weren't. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We each had burgers, which were good, but nothing great. The pepper burger was loaded with jalapenos. If you had to choose between the regular fries and the sweet potato fries, go with the sweet potato ones ... oh, and they're crinkle cut & fried perfectly. A little pricey, but it is W. Yellowstone.

  • Chris P.

We stopped in for a quick bite to-go. The burger and sweet potato fries I ordered were done very well. The flavor was pretty good and a decent value for what I got. My fiancé had the BBQ pork sandwich. According to her, it was aces because of the slaw made with diced apples. I would certainly like to stay and have some other burgers they advertised, as well as see what the beer list was looking like, but for a quick pass through, it was a pretty good experience. Our server was friendly and quick to help us, and our take-out meal was ready in a short time.

  • Flory W.

Customer Service, good. Wine is good. Pizza, so-so. They didn't have much selection that we liked. We ordered the Hercules. I guess, those don't come with a sauce! But no problem, I liked the crust! It came with a lot of spinach on top, I felt it, it was warm, but they're just freshly FLOATING ON TOP, and they should just called that: PIZZA SALAD!

  • Claudine V.

Good burgers! Our party tried the elk burger and lamb burger. Satisfied customers. The fish and chips were good and their soup of the day was yummy. Couple the good with the great choice of local beers and you have four stars.

  • Sarah L.

What an excellent meal and fantastic local draught beer list. Definitely have the jalapeño wontons and get something that includes the Idaho potato fries! We also had the elk burger which was excellent and the Greek pizza also fantastic!!! Our server, Tim could not have been better--awesome personality and fabulous service!

  • Lisa S.

Really great service!!! We had Janet Take care of us! She was great! Fries here are amazing! Great spot here in West Yellowstone!

  • Sandra S.

Lets start by saying that we were starving when we got there both nights. Yes, I went there two nights in a row, thats how good it is. I ordered the black angus burger with everything on it, and the hand cut potatoes on the side. Its times like these that I wish I could eat like a lot more. It was super good: juicy, perfectly seasoned goodness. They also had a great beer selection to wash down that delicious burger. If you like a good burger you should definitely try this. The reason I gave this place all five stars is the service. Our waiter the second night was so friendly and helped us even though they were very busy. On top of that, we had a super picky eater in our company and our waiter didn't have a problem at all. I am so glad we came across this place after a long day in Yellowstone.

  • Gerardo C.

Amazing service for a group of 13 and AWESOME food! Lamb burger is a must. It also has a huge beer list. Overall we highly recommend this place.

We went to the Slippery Otter Pub and Eatery in West Yellowstone after a long day in the park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They serve only beer and wine. They had a great selection of beer! The food was served quickly. It was delicious. My youngest son was thrilled with the kids pizza that came in the shape of a bear. They do not serve dessert at the Slippery Otter, but the waiter gave us a map of West Yellowstone and took the time to map out all the places that served dessert and what we could get there. It was really nice.

    (4)
  • Jonathan G.

Read the mixed reviews but ultimately went here because of the kids menu. Turned out we had an incredible meal. Delicious, tons of options, great wait staff, accommodating, great beer options. Now confused about the mixed reviews. Wish we found this place two days earlier. Perfect for families.

In a town sustained by tourism, every restaurant is a bit of a tourist trap, but Slippery Otter Pub may have been the worst that we experienced on the trip. We came here for an early dinner and decided to try the Elk Burgers. The burgers were fine, nothing special and also on the dry side. We also shared a Garden Salad, which was mostly lettuce with a couple of cucumbers and tomatoes thrown in. The hand cut Idaho fries that came with our burgers were decent though. Although the pub has lots of space and most of the seats were empty when we arrived, our waitress really rushed us through the meal, clearing away plates before people were done and bringing out the bill while half of us were still eating, not so polite. Glad I could try an Elk Burger, but the next time I'm in Yellowstone, I'll fall for a different tourist trap.

    (2)
  • Erik S.

Very tastefull ! We tried the Bisonburger and pizza, both very good. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Lot of (local) beers on tap.

  • Mike F.

This is a must for good food in West Yellowstone. We have come here twice now while out here. Great service and great food. Several beers on tap and they have Hard Cider which is a must for me. Burgers are excellent and the wings are dry rubbed which we really enjoyed. Fresh cut fries could not have been cooked better. We are having pizza tonight which I think will come out dang good. Saw several go to tables last night and not a piece was left behind. If you like good food, service and an updated atmosphere which is great for kids too, give this place a try.

    (5)
  • Dave M.

Only came here for beer: I like that the majority of the selection are MT-based breweries so it allows you to see what MT has to offer. Service was excellent, I came in about 45 min. to close, so even in spite of that I was satisfied.

    (5)
  • Lindsey B.

Our server was fantastic! He was super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. I had the fish and chips, and my husband had the meatloaf sandwich. Both very good, but the meatloaf was especially good. Their fries need work though, not great. Would come here again.

Wow, the town of West Yellowstone is A-dorable! We had asked for a food reference from one of the gals at the Bear Refuge place, and she didn't hesitate to tell us about this place. So we drove two blocks down to check it out for lunch! It was kinda busy since the World Cup was going on, and they have multiple TV's, but we were still able to find a nice booth. So that was great. Corn Chowder. Dude. It's amazing. If it's corn-chowder day - GET IT!!! I'd never even had it before, but it was so delicious, i couldn't get enough. In addition, i'd ordered a personal pizza (Pepperoni) - but it was pretty bad. Stay away from the Pizza. I think it was the sauce. Something tasted smokey, and on a pizza that just wasn't right. It was weird. My son ordered a burger of some sort (Bison?) - that he loved! And they had good fries. The service was good. Waiter kept coming around to see what we needed, etc. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you just need a casual place to hit up for bar-type food. Stay-away from the pizza, but I'd definitely suggest the soup and burgers! This is the restaurant owned by Best Western, but also has a separate entrance off the Main street. We didn't even realize it was part of Best Western.

    (3)
  • Chris R.

Great place for a few local beers. When I came in there were 23 beers on tap. Nice selection with plenty of local craft beer.

    (4)
  • Kyle M.

Food was good. Limited menu of basically "salads, pizzas, burgers" and beer list was meh for a bar. Not bad but would look elsewhere if given the choice.

    (3)
  • L N.

Atmosphere was good. Service was excellent. Expected a bit more quality to the food. Wouldn't let us order off the kids menu. Chicken strips were processed/chopped chicken bits. Pizza looked and tasted like a frozen pizza. Expected more out of a restaurant with this look.

    (2)
  • K R.

Excellent in every way ! Our server Janet was the best. Superior selection of beer. The jalapeño wontons and fish and chips were delicious .

    (5)
  • Shannom P.

This place was AWESOME! Not only was the service great but the food was SO good! We had the wings, spinach dip and jalapeño wontons! I would recommend any of those apps! The bison burger was very flavorful, so were the fries! Loved everything we ordered! Would def recommend eating here!!

    (5)
  • Toni P.

Yum! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with home made slaw piled on top. Slaw is made with apples nice touch. The pork was perfect. Not to dry. Sandwich served with a side of BBQ sauce. You add as much or little to the sandwich. I prefer a sweeter/hotter BBQ sauce but I stilled enjoyed the sauce added to the sandwich. Fries were cooked perfectly. Our waitress was attentive. Overall a must stop if you are in the area.

    (5)
  • Ryan G.

Solid pizza and drinks, service was good until after we paid our bill. Just wanted to talk and catch up but service was more worried about busing our table while we were sitting at it.

    (3)
  • Trista S.

The place is the best in town! Great beer, awesome food, friendly and fast service. The bison burger was delicious! It was perfectly cooked, with a side of crinkle cut sweet potato fries and barbecue sauce was heavenly! The beer was so so good! He served knew her stuff and we were all very satisfied! I highly recommend.

Quite literally one of three spots open for dinner when I was in West Yellowstone this past weekend. That said, the service, food and atmosphere were all great. We never did figure out what made the otter slippery, but life's full of mysteries. Good beer selection and a fun menu of various trivia made my group sad we missed the deadline on coming here our first night in town (they closed at 9pm, so watch out for online hours since they adjust with the seasons).

    (5)
  • Latricia E.

We were in Yellowstone for two days and was lucky enough to find this great place for lunch/dinner. We ordered a large order of fries as an appetizer. Best fries we had anywhere on our trip including Idaho! Burgers were amazing. We liked it so much we ate there both days.

    (5)
  • Austin B.

Somewhat pricey, but ultimately worth it. I had Fish and chips (which were amazing!) and my wife had an Elk burger (which she really liked). The selection of beer was great, as well. I highly recommend getting a Black Butte Porter. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

    (4)
  • Glen B.

Our waitress was good. Food was terrible at best and prices made the food even worse. My wife's $12 veggie burger turned into a $16 veggie burger with the addition on 4 slices of canned mushrooms and a slice of cheese. She finished about a quarter of it because it was disgusting. We complained to our waitress but she didn't say much and still charged us $16. My son and I shared a less than average pep pizza that we finished but we were starving. I'd compare pizza to Little Caesars quality. My micro brew draft beer was the best part of the dinner. It hurts a little to spend $40+ for bad food.

    (1)
  • Lisa P.

Best service of our trip. The food was wonderful and our server, Carlos, was warm, hospitable and just the right amount of attentive. Would highly recommend!

    (5)
  • Mike R.

My friends and I went to eat at the slippery otter, they didn't have the domestic beer we wanted, told us to go across the street to the store. Also had a proposition for *** by a regular customer. Not a good place to me. We left without eating.

    (1)
  • Rachel B.

Went with a group of 8 after a long day in Yellowstone. It was busy but we were able to sit down with only a 10 min wait. Good selection of food and drink and everyone enjoyed their meal. My only complaint was the service - which was slow and sporadic. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and kept forgetting things.

    (4)
  • Jessica L.

Great place with local food and drink options on the menu. Has a nice amount of gluten free options on the menu, which are clearly marked. We are in town visiting Yellowstone and will be returning for dinner tomorrow!

    (5)
  • Thérèse HC W.

We were on our way to Yellowstone National Park and were looking for a quick bite. We have picked this place randomly. I've ordered their lamb burger. It was ok. If you like the taste of lamb, you will like it. The burger came with fries. However, the fries were too dry and oily. I think they could do better with the fries.

    (3)
  • Jason S.

Great family friendly atmosphere. Staff was great and served us well. Food was great, fast and good quality.

    (5)
  • Sarah W.

After a long day in the park, this was the perfect spot for a large family group with a hungry baby and six year old! This was a hot spot the first week of July, and was packed, but we managed to get a table within minutes and the selection was great! Service was on point and we never had to ask for more drinks- they kept the glasses full and the table clean! Got our son his food with our appetizers so we could enjoy the meal, and the burgers were cooked as ordered. Fries were really good, and one person got a pizza with pineapple that was cooked like it was in a stone oven- it was super good!

    (5)
  • Super A.

Overpriced! They charge way more than what the quality demands because there are so few restaurants in West Yellowstone. I ordered the pizza, which was less than 8 inches and costed $13. Too expensive for what you got. It tasted good, but not like the best I've ever had. The menu is heavy on burger options. The best thing about our meal were the beers. Good selection of local beers. Our waiter was really cool also.

    (3)
  • Laura W.

We were worried about finding decent food in town given how touristy it is. We were pleasantly surprised that the food here was pretty good. Most important thing is that they gave gluten free options for both the burgers and the pizza. I'd definitely go back next time we're in town.

    (4)
  • David K.

Went here this past weekend. Nothing too special but it's a decent restaurant. The angus burger I had was good, not great. The fries did not seem fresh though. Not a whole lot of food options though when it comes to west Yellowstone.

  • Wickerlady V.

Waiter was a jerk, beer was good, snacks Ok, didn't stay for food. As soon as we got there, the waiter arrived and without prompting, rattled off 2 minutes worth of the day's specials and whats not on the menu. We waited for him to finish and asked him if they had tater tots... well, we're so close to Idaho, we wanted to try their potatoes. The waiter asked us in a loud voice "Is it in the menu? If it's not in the menu, we don't have it man". Never mind that we never even had a chance to look at the menu before he arrived at our table. Anyway, we got some local beers, all of which were good, and some fries. Nothing special about the fries. Then we thought we'd order food. We asked for a particular item on the menu, and the waiter exploded on us again, "I already told you we don't have it!" Oh, that must have been in the rattling off in the beginning. We paid (and tipped 15% because WE aren't jerks) and left.

    (2)
  • Robert M.

Great beer selection. Most menu choices are house made. We loved the jalapeño wonton. Chef Casey has a great touch. Lamb Berger awesome. Spinach artichoke dip is original recipe.

    (4)
  • Eric W.

Service was good and the Elk burger and bacon burger were very good. Would definitely recommend the jalapeño popper wontons. My only negative thing I can say is that the menu variety is very small.

    (4)
  • Andrew S.

We had already eaten and only went here for after dinner drinks, so my review is based solely on that experience. This is a great place with wonderful friendly bar service, very warm, bubbly, exciting and refreshing. They have an amazing beer selection too and all laid out on a comprehensive and very detailed menu. Really cool. Awesome people here too - seems like a go to place for locals. Add to that it's amazing value for money What we have here folks is a winner!

  • Desiree C.

Gluten free options, from pizza, to buns, to French fries which are fried separately. They know what they're talking about when it comes to true food allergies and cross contamination. My husband and I ate there three times in two days. Misty our server was awesome. I had the elk burger and it was delicious. Also, we had their supreme pizza which was great. Also...the fries were fresh and good. We even played shuffle board. The one problem is they don't have free wifi. I think it would be more Enjoyable If they offered it.

    (4)
  • Matt P.

Good place to bring the family after a day in the park. Reasonable prices and good food. Burgers and fries done right!

    (4)
  • Kylee A.

One of the two places we could recommend in town! Good pizzas and awesome burgers (and we know burgers)! Also the fries were Sooo good tasted like they were fresh from our hometown fair. Yum!!!

    (5)
  • liz m.

Friendly service, great burgers and fresh salads. The kids like the bear shaped pizzas. I think it's a stretch but the kids are happy. The salad has very fresh ingredients. I don't love TVs in restaurants but they all seem to have them. We were seated quickly and served in a timely manner.

    (4)
  • Sara W.

Best pizza in West Yellowstone! Decent service.

    (4)
  • Robert O.

Sean is AWESOME! Food was on point for a bar. Very pleased. If anything, service could be more attentive.

    (5)
  • Karen E.

We have had dinner here several times - the Burgers are very good, homemade fries are great!! Had a pizza last night & thought it was very good. Prices are a little high but we expected that because it is in a tourist town. My husband has tried several different dark beers & has enjoyed them all. Staff is always friendly, it gets busy around dinner time but we've never had a long wait. We went in at about 4:45 on Saturday of Memorial Weekend & were seated immediately, received are drinks very fast, ordered & received our food very fast too. I like going to the Slippery Otter, it is a good restaurant in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

    (4)
  • Maryann D.

We were here in the off season so very few restaurants were open which was in our favor because we found The Slippery Otter. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and had good recommendations. I started with a Caesar salad which was surprisingly good with fresh shredded Parmesan. The 3/4 lb. burger was outstanding. The bun was toasted just enough to give it a little crunch and the patty was cooked to perfection. The French fries are homemade, perfectly seasoned and the best!!! My friend had the pulled pork sandwich was the special with coleslaw and BBQ sauce. Just the right amount of tang. I had a glass of Chardonnay which was a nice big pour. All in all we loved the place and would highly recommend it.

    (5)
  • Austin S.

The slippery otter was loud over priced and they didn't have any domestic beers boo thumbs down

    (1)
  • Charles B.

The service here was amazing. The food less so. We had the elk burger, which many people have mentioned here. It had a weird, chemical taste that was really unpleasant. Beer, wings, fries were all very good, but the burgers were the whole point, and they were very disappointing.

    (3)
  • Rebekah C.

They seated us fairly quickly despite the dinner rush and the waiter was attentive... At first. Good selection of the local beers and a nice wine menu. The pizza was fair to average. We had three different pizzas and they were all delivered quickly and were nice and hot. The salads were very good and a decent size for a side salad. Then our waiter went ghost and it took a while to get him back however he was overall friendly. It was a pretty pricy meal for three small pizzas and two small salads so if you are looking for a bargain dinner this is not your spot. But if you want a nice casual atmosphere with good brews and decent food you will be fine.

    (4)
  • Phillip T.

They only seem to give any effort to the burgers or soup. The adult chicken tenders and sweet potato fries seem to have come from the local supermarket frozen aisle. Not worth the price...

When we visited the Slippery Otter Pub recently, members of our group would have given it very different reviews. It's important to point out that our visit happened to take place on the very first day it was open following a big remodeling job. I think this had much to do with some of our dissatisfaction. The menus arrived covered in stars. I was in the very nicely-appointed restroom when the waitress explained to the rest of the group that the stars indicated items that were not going to be on the new (current?) version of the menu. I ordered the fish & chips. The waitress didn't specify whether I wanted the large or small, and I ended up with large. I suspect the fish was frozen, but it was good nonetheless. I was delighted to hear they had clam chowder to accompany it, only to be disappointed when the waitress came back to say it was instead corn chowder. No, thanks. Hubby ordered the elk burger and was very pleased. He let everyone at the table have a taste, and we all liked it a lot. His parents were both pretty disappointed with what they got. First they ordered coffees, but there was none available. Then Dad ordered chili, and he was disappointed in the flavor & consistency. Mom ordered a chicken ceasar and didn't like that much, either. Just as we were finishing up, the waitress brought me a full soda. Rather than waste it and hubby's nearly-full lemonade, I asked for take-home cups. She went to get some, then came back and said they didn't have any. So, when the updating of the restaurant is REALLY complete (new menus, fresh coffee, paper cups, and maybe a new chili recipe), I think this will be a solid place to visit.

My brother and I were recently on a trip out to west yellowstone and were recommended the slippery otter by the snowmobile company we rented from and the hotel we were staying at. We were both very impressed with the food and atmosphere. The elk burger was super tasty and they even offered a gluten free bun as well as a few different gluten free beers to choose from. My brother doesn't have any allergies so he was able to have it on the traditional bun and sample several of the many different local beers that they had on tap. We also had a chance to chat with the owner and bartender and both were very pleasant and welcoming to their town. Also they have shuffleboard. Which is awesome.

Janet will make your day! She made our great day even better!!! Great beer selection. Try the Dechutes Fresh Squeezed IPA. Great location, excellent service.

  • Nona C.

Got the hercules which came on a thin crust (yay!). Toppings were a little sparse than what I expected but overall a satisfying meal with good service and clean bathrooms.

  • Samantha A.

We ordered the Black Angus burger with fries for $10.00 each, $1.50 extra for cheese. They got our order correct, no tomato on one and cheese on the other. The fries were excellent, burger very juicy, not dry at all. Delicious! Our server was Tim, he was very attentive and checked back with us often for drink refills, or anything we might need. I will eat here again and would recommend this restaurant.

    (5)
  • Taryn N.

First of all, great service. Jordan C. was very friendly, quick and had a sense of humor. Elk burger was good. Could have had a bit more flavor. Hand cut fries were amazing! Sweet potato fries...yummy. Wings were alright. I would go back.

    (4)
  • Wendy K.

Bison burger yummie. Lamb burger was tasty with good seasoning. Service was very good

Just ate here for the first time. Very happy about that! Had the steak salad and pulled pork sandwich. Both delicious! Quick and friendly service.

Came in after a day in the park for a western-style dinner. Place is very easy to find. The atmosphere was very nice, nothing formal by any means, but perfect for the type of restaurant it is. The service was great, and all the servers were very laid back and personable. TVs viewable from any table to catch up on ESPN. The food was amazing, and for the price there is no better place. Hint - try the Buffalo Burger if its your first time. AMAZING. Overall a great experience, would return for sure

    (5)
  • Lorena F.

We stayed 2 nights in West Yellowstone and had dinner twice there. The place has a large selection of local beers and the menu includes pizza, burgers and sandwiches. I had the BBQ burger and it was juicy and very tasty. My husband had the buffalo burger and it was dry. The margherita pizza (8in) was too small and kinda of bland. I'd order the BBQ burger, it was consistently good! The waitress use Ipads to take the orders in. So while he's taking your food order, the beer is already being poured at the bar. It looked very hi-tech!

  • Smackers M.

They make most of their food in-house. They make great food and have a fantastic beer list.

    (5)
  • Jennifer W.

Pizza was good and their Moose Drool microbrew made local was delicious! A fun stop in West Yellowstone.

    (4)
  • Jim P.

Friendly service and a great selection of craft beers. Nice selection of burgers and pizza, but the salads are very uninspired. Sit at the bar and watch Monday Night Football or another event. You do NOT want to come here for wine, as their wine selection can only be considered poor.

    (3)
  • Mindy P.

Best spinach artichoke dip I've ever had! Great service! Love the bar area! Gotta try when in West Yellowstone!

    (5)
  • Jessica V.

Excellent beer selection, a bit pricey, fish and chips and elk burger were delicious The fries were the best part!! Feisty staff which we very much enjoyed :)

    (4)
  • Julie R.

Great addition to West Yellowstone which has always seemed to be wasteland of good food. Most of what we've eaten previously has been very "touristy". I had the Elk Burger which was very good. The fries are hand cut daily and were crispy and delicious. They have pretty decent wine list which I enjoyed both times we visited. Our service was amazing. We were seated promptly and our server arrived shortly after. She was attentive during our whole meal and made sure we had what we needed. We will definitely be returning to the Slippery Otter on our next visit to Yellowstone.

    (4)
  • Jeffrey A.

We had a dissatisfying experience from start to finish. Waitress forgot drinks, place settings...salad came after entree after we asked. Addition of sweet potato fries was ignored and we got regular (very soggy) fries. Beer order was forgotten so it came after the elk burger which was about 4 ounces for $17.50 and was was overcooked. Greek salad was OK but the chicken was dry. Had to go to the bar to interrupt waitress several times as she was busy counting change in drawers. Won't be going back.

    (1)
  • Kathleen H.

Lots of beer, so if you're going for that you won't be disappointed. Burgers and fries were great, but the pizza was terrible. Fast service.

Cool setting....great beer selection (reminded me of a CA restaurant beer menu)...very nice staff. Food was bad....chicken was super dry. I did not have the pizza, but I must admit it looked good. Also, very small portions...don't come here hungry.

If you up for beer ask for the sampler, we asked the waitress to choose for us and was such a bliss. Staff are very nice, and the food... Best fish and chips you can find, my husband had the elk burger and he loved it. My kids had pizza and loved. We highly recommend this place.

The Slippery Otter Pub is an excellent stop for lunch or dinner. We ate there for dinner twice during our 3-day stay in West Yellowstone. The elk meatloaf, elk and bison burgers are the best in town. Service is very personal, quick, and friendly. The staff is willing to talk and share local knowledge about the area. We loved it and will go again when we visit Yellowstone Park!

Stopped in for dinner on a trip to Yellowstone. The pros: no waiting. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere is good, not too loud and the booths are spacious. As to the food it was limited to pizza, burgers and salads. I had the bison burger and my husband had the elk burger. Both were quite tasty but mine was a little too red in the middle for my liking. The cons: it's quite pricey for what it is. A $15 dollar burger is a little too much. Also, the kids menu was the usual crappy kid food and also pricey. All in all I enjoyed my burger but I would not be likely to return.

What a great meal and very fast service. Lived the food and the atmosphere. Loud like a bar, but most places are loud anymore. I ordered the three piece fish and chips and a garden salad. The fish was way better than I expected and the fries are real potatoes. Can't get much better than that, until you come to the huge list of local beers on tap. If you want a hard drink you need to go elsewhere, however. I will return,

Not a huge fan of the decor- too bright/light for a late night spot. Elk burger was decent, awesome selection of draft micro brews. Very fast, friendly service. Will definitely come back, if we happen to visit Yellowstone again.

Casey M. for everything you just posted about me and the lies. I have contacted my attorney and you have 48 hours to take those comments down before a lawsuit will be against you and your establishment. It will also be a lawsuit for assault. Some of the other patrons when we were leaving stopped us and said we seen what happened and here is our number in case cops are called or you need us as witnesses. Not to mention we had a lot of people in there and witnessed your behavior and putting your hands on me. So this is your warning you have 48 hours or my attorney will be in touch with your establishment and the owner.

We arrived here late at night and were informed by the hostess that the wait would be about 10 minutes. I sat down and watched several people also enter and wait to be seated. After 15 minutes, the hostess seats a group of 4 who ARRIVED AFTER US in a table of 5. I ask the hostess why she sat them before us and she says that she was waiting to seat us at a smaller table. This was a ludicrous excuse. Another 15 minutes pass by and the hostess does not even have the courtesy to apologize. At this point we're about ready to leave but it was too late to go anywhere else. After half an hour of waiting, we were finally seated on an uncomfortable wooden booth. It took a few minutes before our waiter approached us, and when he did, he threw some menus on the table, brought a jug of water with 3 cups of water for our party of four, and promptly disappeared, despite our yelling at him to tell him we wanted to order. I stared blankly at the jug of water, as if our waiter expected us to pour it ourselves. It took him 5 minutes to return, and he immediately asked us what we wanted with no greeting. We ordered off a limited menu and then awaited our food. Our burgers arrived after waiting over 20 minutes for them. The food was average and overpriced. The burgers were Five Guys quality for twice the price. Our waiter was rude in his manner and rarely checked on us. I'd like to note that other waiters/waitresses seemed friendly while our waiter Steven was extremely rude. Don't visit this horrible venue.

The food looked decent but honestly we only stopped in for a night cap. Beer selection was good; they had two nitro taps.

Service, beer list, beers on tap, and food are considerably better now that there is new ownership and the former restaurant (Wolfpack Brewing...???) is gone. There are many local brews featured. We had the lamb burger and the elk burger, which, yes, are leaner and thus may be a little more dry, but ours were cooked perfectly. We watched other people's pizzas float by, and they looked and smelled good. Service is very good; we were acknowledged right away and checked in on often (but not obtrusively so).

Other tourists tell their partners in crime where to dine so we tried it. Sad to say ingredients on the pizzas may have been fresh, but bland and blah. We were immediately seated and after a long day just wanted a tiny bit of rest, we had to inquire where to park before stopping to dine, risked parking at the hotel behind the pub. No pub in Ireland is like this one, folks did seem to be in the festive spirit as Christmas was happening in 3 days. Server was nice, no wait. No wow.

I had the fish and chips. Most of my fries were close to burnt. The service was quick. Close to shopping.

Stopped in for a beer and pizza. Good beer selection, good pizza with fresh ingredients and good service. Would come back again

We spent several nights in West Yellowstone and tried many restaurants. The Slippery Otter was the best experience by far. The Service, which is spotty at best in this town, was excellent with both our waiter and the Staff. Draft Beer options were excellent with 27 on Tap. Food was Great and came out fast.

EDIT: I see someone from Slippery Otter has made a comment on this review. That's a compliment and their comment has certainly prompted me to come back to Slippery Otter when I'm in the yellowstone area again to try them again. When I do, I will post an update. ~~~~~~~ Original Review (original date is accurate): Went in here based on a recommendation by a waiter from Wild West Pizzeria & Saloon in the area. While it was nice of him to ask and suggest, WWP&S is certainly the better place. I've been told this place had a change of ownership from when it was "wolf pack" and I have no idea whether it is true or not. Everything seems the same; including the menu. It was to a level that I was certainly suspicious. I wouldn't have came back if it was "wolf pack" but I figured we would give this place a try. The service was decent and so was the pizza. They still have the same mellow beer as wolf pack did. Between the better service of WWP&S, the better beer at WWP&S (their bottles are better than the drafts here) and the pizza at WWP&S I can't see myself coming here again. Though, IT WAS NOT BAD. Message to Slippery Otter: your pizza and service was decent. you guys have plenty of mellow beers on the drink menu you guys serve. Why not improve your beers a bit? Start slow, offer tasters and embrace strong beer! I would certainly come back if this place had really great beer. What did I do while in west yellowstone? I went to the corner market that sells bombers of lagunitas hop stoopid for under $5. ;)

My husband and I visited the Slippery Otter after a long day in the park. We were seated immediately. Service was excellent! Our server stopped by the table just the right number of times and was very friendly and helpful. Beer selection is excellent. We had the pizza. Definitely give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

This was my favorite spot in West Yellowstone. The beer and wine list is extensive and features a good variety of local brews. Food is tasty but limited to burgers and pizza. Both were excellent. The service was quick and friendly. Little expensive ($13 for a burger) but worth it when compared to nearby eateries.

Traveling with two children looking for a decent place to eat. The staff was friendly, and the facility was clean. As mentioned, impressive beer selection. I thought the food was ok, but nothing special. One child rated it four star.

One of the few places open after 10. We ordered two soups, a pizza and fish and chips. Pizza and fish and chips came out, waiter realized he forgot our soups. We almost cancelled, too bad we didn't. Soups were bland and tasteless. How hard is it to make minestrone? My fish and chips tasted really poorly, I suspect the Tartar sauce may have been bad. My friends pizza was ok. Refill on my soda took 10 minutes and asking twice. Service was slow (at least it was friendly). I'd find someplace else.

It was alright food and pretty quick, but the menu is super limited. Your options are pretty much burgers or pizza.

Stopped in on Monday and had the special; meatloaf. It was excellent. Incredible number of draft beers offered. The pub is very clean with friendly service. This place is a winner.

The place was empty at lunch in a very busy town. Wait staff was pleasant. Burgers great. Pizza crust was obviously store bought not tasty at all. Good fries and sweet potato fries as well. Waited a while for the check....... Weird because they were not busy at all!

We went here twice during our week in Yellowstone and we were impressed both times. The beer available on tap is outstanding and the wine list is decent. The bison burgers are perfect and come with a side; we had sweet potato fries and Caesar salad. Our waitress both times were friendly and attentive, even on a very busy Saturday night; we sat in the booths in the bar which was pretty noisy on Saturday (football games on) but they have a separate dining area, too if that's not your thing. Their pizzas looked amazing but the burgers were so good we got them both times.

We went to this place in July. The inside is well done and the service is wonderful. The food however was bad to the bone. We ordered a fish and chips and a hamburger. The fish was inedible and I sent it back for a credit. And I have not sent a plate back in 20 years - that's how bad it was. SO I ate half of my wife's burger which was barely edible after she put on all of the toppings. Don't go hear......It is expensive and the food is bad.

We went into the pub with 9 people and they crammed us all into a corner booth. The waiter couldn't get our order right and we had to send 2 of our meals back for correction. The manager was unprofessional and inappropriate with us as customers when we brought the issues to her attention. I've had bad experiences but never anything as horrible as this. Do not eat here!

After spending three days in Yellowstone and Grand Teton, the Slippery Otter was just what we needed. There were plenty of options for my picky eating kids and the Greek Salads my husband and I ordered were the best salads we had seen in days. The feta dressing was delicious and the salad produce was really fresh. We almost skipped it based on the reviews but I am glad we didn't. The restaurant was clean, the service was good and the food came quickly. There were no complaints from this crowd when we were done.

Stopped by after a long day at Yellowstone. Had trouble finding parking, so we parked in the hotel lot behind--that was a risk we were willing to take. We ordered steaks and pizzas for us and the kids, and were very happy with the service, the food, and the time it took to be seated, which was just a few minutes. The caesar salads were good, but could have used a bit more dressing--there was barely any on there. I'd definitely go back again if I were nearby.

Stopped in for a beer or few and was very impressed with there selection. Barkeep was very friendly, patient, and informative. Wings were also good. Highly recommend. Only regret was I forgot the pint glass I bought. :-(

Good pizza, good beer, good service, good atmosphere. We ordered a sausage pizza, kids cheese pizza, and a couple of beers from the fairly extensive selection. Everything was solidly good. My only comment would be to be aware that the kids pizza is quite small -- my two year old inhaled it -- so just get the two-pizza version unless you have a dainty eater.
